 Overview
Oak Creek Canyon is a world of colorful sandstone formations, craggy cliffs, and teeming trout streams. In autumn the turning leaves add to the rich hues of the sculpted canyon walls. This spectacular red rock canyon south of Flagstaff and just north of Sedona is a favorite for locals. It is often crowded and, unless you like traffic and the noises of the city, you might want to avoid this one.
