 Overview
Sabino Canyon is one of southern Arizona's natural treasures. Fed by the waters of Sabino Creek and sheltered by the canyon walls, the plants and animals that inhabit the canyon offer an interesting contrast to those found in the surrounding desert. The shade and cool water attract visitors year-round.

Elevation: 2,800 feet (at the Visitor Center)
Fees: $5.00 per day.
Hours: The Recreation Area is open 24 hours per day, every day.
Visitor Center: Open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; on weekends and holidays, open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed on Thanksgiving and December 25th.
Facilities:
  • 89 picnic sites scattered throughout area.
  • Cactus Ramada group picnic site available by reservation. Sabino Group site, no reservation needed.
  • Visitor Center and Bookstore.
  • Restrooms available at the Visitor Center.
  • Toilet with barrier-free access at visitor center
  • Vending machines (water and sodas) are near the Visitor Center.
Directions:

From Tanque Verde Road in Tucson take Sabino Canyon Road north to the Recreation Area just north of Sunrise Road. Turn right into the parking lot. Get directions from MapQuest.
