| A coastal park with a light house, museum, splendid grounds, and views of the Pacific Ocean. Commemorates Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo's 1542 expedition, the first European exploration of the west coast of the United States. The park is home to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, one of the first lighthouses built on the West Coast, and preserves some of the best examples of the coastal sage scrub and tide pool communities of Southern California. The view of San Diego from the site is said to be the finest harbor view in the nation. |
