 Keane Wonder Mine and Mill

In 1903 Jack Keane and Domingo Etcharren discovered a ledge of gold. By May of 1904 a gold rush began. By 1912 the Keane Wonder Mine and Mill closed down. The site has the remains of an assay office, general office building, a 20 stamp mill, a boarding house, cookhouse, and tram towers. In 1909 50 men were working in the mine and mill. The total production of the mine during is operation is estimated at $1,100,000.
