Leadfield, Death Valley California. This page presents information on the ghost town of Leadfield, California, in Death Valley National Park.
 Leadfield

Copper and lead were first mined in this area as early as 1905. The town of Leadfield was established around 1926, with some heavy mining going on at that time. But by 1927 the down began its rapid decline due to financial problems and the end of lead mining at one of the main operations.

Today the area has a few standing buildings, mostly of wood and tin, with scattered mines, dumps, and prospect holes. There is a dugout and cement foundations for the mill.
