 Overview
Yosemite is one of the more spectacular or our national parks, but its proximity to the large California metropolitan areas have made it crowded throughout most of the Summer season. Try visiting in the Spring when the streams and water falls are at full capacity.
Area: 1,200 square miles
Elevation: From 2,000 to 13,000 feet.
Fees: $20.00 per vehicle or $10 per bus passenger, bicyclist, or walk-in.
Hours: The Park is open daily.
Visitor Center:
  • Big Oak Flat Visitor Center
  • Tuolumne Visitor Center
  • Wawona Visitor Center
  • Yosemite Valley Visitor Center: Open from June 15th through September 15th, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and from September 16th through June 14th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Facilities:

There are four visitor centers, scenic roads, trails, paved bikeways, boarding kennels, bookstores, and gas stations.

Shuttle Bus: Free shuttle bus in east end of Yosemite Valley and between Wawona and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and from Tuolumne Meadows to Tenaya Lake.

Directions: There are four entrances to the park: the south entrance on Highway 41N from Fresno; the Arch Rock entrance on Highway 140W from Merced; the Big Oak Flat entrance on Highway 120W from Modesto and Manteca; and the Tioga Pass entrance on Highway 120E from Lee Vining and U.S. 395.
