Wilderness Areas
Here you'll find a linked list of visited designated wilderness and wilderness study areas, as well as some areas that should be protected as wilderness areas.
Wilderness Areas preserve the natural habitat of our stressed resources and open spaces. Motorized vehicles are prohibited, as is much of our "normal" human activity. Access to many wilderness areas is limited and controlled, but there are many hiking and exploring opportunities. Often there are not even established trails to follow. Though we've skirted many Wilderness Areas in our travels we haven't yet had the opportunity to actually visit and explore many of these last wild places on this continent.
