Fossil jaw. This page presents our personal notes on our visits to Fort Robinson State Park in Nebraska.
 Personal Notes

From the summer of 1967 and up through 1979 I visited this park and its museum on several occasions. I was doing some paleontological collecting in the area and often stopped by the museum to compare my finds with those exhibited within the cases. This is where I also became fascinated by the stories of the Cheyenne and Sioux peoples and their dealings with the United States Calvary during the late 1800s. This is where Crazy Horse was killed, and where the fateful escape occurred that resulted in the massacre at Wounded Knee.

The park is shaded and pleasant and the campground is very nice. There is a small stream running through the area and plenty of history to keep anyone entertained.

From Custer, South Dakota, we drove down to Fort Robinson State Park in Nebraska and visited the Natural History Museum there and walked around in the drizzle and looked at some of the buildings and historic sites. We also drove through the campground, then headed out.
