Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park combines both the preserved mining ghost town of Berlin and a paleontological site containing the fossil remains of 37 ichthyosaurs (the world's greatest concentration of ichthyosaur remains). The Park sits within the boundaries of Toiyabe National Forest, on the southeastern edge of the Shoshone Mountains, overlooking the Ione Valley.

Fossil Shelter Tour: 40 minutes. Memorial Day to Labor Day, Monday through Friday, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
From March 15th to Memorial Day, and Labor Day to November 15th, Saturday and Sunday, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (or by advance reservation), from November 15th to March 15th by advance reservation only.
Diana Mine Tour: 60 minutes. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. Tours are limited to eight persons. Mine tours are not offered from October 15 through April 15 for protection of wintering bats.

- Seasonal temperatures vary greatly at the Park, from hot summers to cold winters.
- Summer temperatures can reach 90 degrees during the day, with winter daytime temperatures only about 40 degrees.
- Late spring and early fall can often be the nicest times of the year.
- Winter visits to the park are possible, but be certain to call for weather and road conditions.
