Cathedral Gorge State Park was established in 1935, and is one of Nevada's oldest parks. The Park's unusual clay formations, many of them resembling church spires, is the main attraction. Originally known as Panaca Gulch and later changed to Cathedral Gulch, the name Cathedral Gorge has stuck. Simply put, this "gorge" is a wash, that over the eons has been weathered and eroded into a fantasy land. |
