 Overview

There is (or has been) an archaeological operation at the Grimes Point / Hidden Cave Archaeological Site). Out in the desert, closer to the highway, there is a trail that winds through the large boulders on the desert floor. Many of these boulders are covered in black desert varnish, many with petroglyphs.

Hidden Cave, a major archaeological site, was used prehistorically by hunter-gatherers as a cache or storage site. The cave was occupied between 3,400 and 4,000 years ago.
