After the Bonneville Lock and Dam and Fish Hatchery we backtracked just a bit to catch the Cascade Locks and the Bridge of the Gods. There is a toll to take the bridge to the Washington side, so we didn't bother to drive across. As interesting looking as it is, it is still just a bridge.

But we did get a chance to walk around the base and take a few photos. There is a large, but crowded parking area there, with many local Native Americans use the area to sell fresh salmon. There is also a restaurant and a trailhead for a trail that follows the bank of the river for some distance.

The bridge is named after a series of large rock outcrops that had been used by early settlers to cross the cascades at this point in the river. But once the dams were built, these rocks, as are the cascades, are submersed in the reservoir.
