We have visited Badlands National Park in South Dakota many times over the years, especially in the 70s. This is a haven for fossil hunters (although collecting within the Park and on surrounding Native American lands is illegal), and a scenic wonderland that changes with the angle of the sun and the weather conditions. Visit after a summer rain to witness the vivid colors of the shales and clays. There are a couple of campgrounds, and plenty of backpacking and hiking opportunities.
We will add more detailed information as time allows. If you have immediate questions, send us an e-mail and we'd be glad to pass on what information we can. |
