Major excavations at the Coombs Site were undertaken by the Peabody Museum in 1927, by the University of Utah in 1958 and 1959, and by the State Parks staff between 1970 and 1991. Excavations uncovered 97 rooms, 10 pit structures, and hundreds of thousands of artifacts. Although major structures have been identified, only abut half of the site has been investigated. Outlines of unexcavated rooms can be glimpses across the site. |
