Notom Road parallels the Waterpocket Fold of Capitol Reef National Park, skirting the eastern section of Capitol Reef between Highway 24 and the Burr Trail Junction. Views of the Henry Mountains and Capitol Reef are among the highlights. This natural surface road is impassable when wet.


Area: 29 miles one way
Elevation: 5,040 Feet at junction of Highway 24;
Fees: None
Hours: The road is normally open from mid-March through mid-November. This route is not maintained in the winter. Wet conditions can make it impassable to four-wheel drive vehicles.
Visitor Center: In Capitol Reef National Park.
Facilities: There is a vault toilet at Cedar Mesa Campground; no drinking water.
Directions:

From the Visitor Center, on Highway 24, drive east for 9.3 miles to Notom-Bullfrog Road junction, then turn south.

The Notom-Bullfrog Road has a natural surface and is subject to changes in weather conditions.
