Rock Art:
Forty-five Degree Rock

This page contains a discussion of the rock art found on the Forty-five Degree Rock Panel within the San Rafael Swell in Utah. All photographs are from our our personal collection. If you'd like to see more rock art from this location, or if you'd like to see higher resolution or larger images, send us an e-mail message and we'll see what we can do.

This site gained its name because it is on a cluster of rocks tipped up at a 45 degree angle toward the east. It is a nice panel of many small petroglyphs of anthropomorphs and zoomorphs. At the top center there is a Kokopelli-like figure that may have a flute and is carrying a burden basket on its back.
