Silver Island Mountain National Back Country Byway follows a 54-mile loop through Utah's Great Basin Desert. It traverses the Silver Island Mountains. As you drive, you'll see the Bonneville Salt Flats of the Great Salt Lake. At
various places along the route, note the wagon ruts indented into the ground by
pioneers. These ruts have remained for over 130 years.
Revel in the relaxing solitude of Silver Island Mountains. Hiking, rock hounding on terraces, and racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats are all viable recreational activities here. |
