| Description: | The hike up the steep northern slope of Mount Timpanogos on the trail to the caves is physically demanding, but rewarding. In your ascent you will climb on a zigzag, hard-surfaced trail from the bottom of American Fork Canyon to the entrance of the caves. Altogether the roundtrip to and through the caves and back down is 3.5 miles. The hike, with the cave tour, takes about 3.5 hours. Several benches along the way give you a chance to rest, catch your breath, and enjoy the outstanding views. | ||
