| Description: |
The boardwalk trail leads through the forest to breathtaking vistas with observation decks to view the Pacific Ocean, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Vancouver and Tatoosh Islands. From the sheer 60 foot cliffs, one may see whales, seals, sea lions, otters, over 250 species of birds, including puffin, and ship traffic.
When you reach the trailhead, take the left fork of the path. Plan at least twenty minutes to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are five observation perches with cedar decks and guardrails.
The trail is a combination of groomed earth, cedar boardwalk, and bridges that span wetlands. Although the vistas are dramatic and exquisite, the trail is not recommended for those with weak ankles, knees, or backs. |
