Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is managed by the USDA Forest Service, Ashley National Forest, and USDI Bureau of Reclamation. Lake Flaming Gorge is a 91 mile long reservoir created in the early 1960s at the completion of Flaming Gorge Dam on the Green River. In 1968 Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area was created to enhance the area's superb outdoor recreational opportunities. |

Use of most facilities, including parking, in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area requires a daily Use Pass for your vehicle. Passes are available at US Forest Service offices and area businesses. Golden Age, Golden Eagle, or Golden Access Passports, displayed visibly, fulfill Use Pass requirements.
