 Camping

Campgrounds fill during July and August. For the current status of the campgrounds, contact entrance stations or Visitor Centers. For recorded campground information, call 739-3603.

Backcountry camping is permitted only in designated areas. A permit is required for all overnight trips.

Regulations

  • One party (head of household and immediate family) is permitted per campsite.
  • Doubling-up in campsites is not permitted and there are no overflow facilities.
  • Camping is not permitted along roadsides or in overlooks or parking areas.
  • Tables, etc. are not to be removed from the campsite area.
  • Park all vehicles and trailers on paved campsite parking spurs or loops.
  • Do not move any barrier rocks, logs, or posts.
  • Fires must be built in the steel fireplaces provided and attended at all times.
  • Damaging vegetation by driving nails into trees, chopping or carving on trees or shrubs, breaking limbs, picking flowers, etc., is prohibited.
