 Personal Notes

Though we have visited this area many times since 1971, we have not spent much time in the Parkway itself. Usually it is a blur of trees as we pass by on our way to or from Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teton National Park. It is a pretty area, but is really a corridor of forest land connecting the two major parks. There is a small Visitor Information Center near Flagg Ranch, but other than that there is not much to attract the casual traveler.

There is one short hike that originates near the parking area for the Visitor Center, but it is mostly a nature trail. See our personal notes on Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park for more information on the area.

2004 Canyon Country Tour

At Jackson Lake Junction, in Grand Teton National Park, we turned left onto Highway 89, 191, and 287 and headed north toward the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway. After we entered the Parkway we ran into road construction. But we got lucky and got to the end of the line just as the other cars were coming through. We had almost no delay at all.
