I'd first visited Ten Sleep Canyon back in the spring of 1970. It was just a short visit, but I remember being impressed by the sheer cliffs and fast running water. On this visit, after visiting the Castle Gardens Scenic Area west of the small town of Ten Sleep, we made a quick run into the mouth of the canyon to visit the Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery.
The canyon has heavy looking cliff faces, and lots of vegetation. If you are heading to or from Yellowstone National Park it would be an interesting option.
