- The main image on this page was taken in Saguaro National Park, East, in the Sonoran Desert.
- The bark of the Palo Verde is green (verde in Spanish). The actual leaves are tiny and grow on the spiny branches. In the spring the tree is covered in thousands of small yellow flowers.
