- There is a strong temperature contrast between the floor and the rim of the Grand Canyon. The summer climate of the Canyon floor is torrid. Temperatures can become dangerously high. The Canyon floor is considerably drier than the rim.
- The Glen Canyon area is even drier than the Grand Canyon.
